Shipping and Payment Problems

Postby Hansoltech » Thu May 14, 2015 11:40 am

Hi,
I hope you guys can help. I am having some trouble with the Shipping calculator and payment system on my store and don't know how to fix it. Basically, my store accepts Paypal as a default payment method, however the standard shopsite shipping calculator is overriding it, meaning that anyone who enters a delivery postcode that is different to the Paypal postcode cannot purchase their items, plus some people are being kicked off Paypal and back to the store to update their shipping calculator constantly. Can anyone help, I am losing customers over this.

Here is what is happening. Shipping is based on the zipcode that the shopper enters on the shopping cart screen. ShopSite calculates the shipping and includes that in the prices sent to PayPal. When they pay with PayPal if their shipping address has a different zipcode then the shipping charges may not be correct. So when PayPal returns the shopper's PayPal address if the zip doesn't match what was used to calculate the shipping, the order total could be incorrect so the shipping charges must be recalculated for the new zip code. This will send the shopper back to the shopping cart with the error that the zipcode doesn't match and shipping needs to be recalculated.

What you could do is add wording to the shopping cart by the "Ship to Zip/Postal Code" text stating that they need to use the zipcode that is associated with the shipping address associated with their PayPal account.
