Tax calculation oddity (no tax)

We had an order yesterday for a taxable item, to a taxable zip code, but tax on the completed order was $0.00.

I looked back at some recent orders; I couldn't find the exact case (that exact product to that particular zipcode),
but I did find tax properly calculated on some orders with:

- the same item, to another California zipcode
- taxable items to the identical yesterday's order no-tax zipcode

And if I play customer and add that product to my cart and set the zipcode to his,
I see a properly calculated tax line.

Any ideas on yesterday's no tax (glitch?) ?

I forgot to mention, we're running ShopSite Pro 11 sp2 r2, on FreeBSD.

Hello Don,

Saw this posting when I was searching for a similar problem we encountered. I will be posting a entry about what I found and how it happened. I know this is over two years old, but if you never figured it out, maybe what we uncovered may explain it.
