Issue with SSL

Postby kiawah » Tue Jan 20, 2015 8:14 am

I got a call from a customer who noticed that the shopping cart does not appear to be secure. I have a valid SSL cert and the hosting setup is correct. I asked my hosting provider to verify and they feel that it is a script issue. Here is what they said:

Furthermore a review of the server logs do not show any errors. Please note that certain browsers may choose to ignore the SSL if the website also includes insecure elements.

Thereore, to investigate and resolve this issue further it is highly advisable to contact the script developer or a review of the SSL support and also the way static elements are being covered by the SSL.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? Am I missing something in the settings? This is impacting my sales. Thank you for your help.

I tested your site in a few web browsers, and when I went to the checkout screen, I saw the padlock without any issues. Note that the shopping cart page before checkout is not secure, nor is it designed to be.

I also ran your checkout page through www.WhyNoPadLock.com and it says the page is secure, although your web host is still supporting SSLv3, which should be disabled due to recent vulnerabilities like POODLE.

I don't see any other issues SSL wise that would be scaring away customers.
