Orders using Purchase Order

I am a web developer comparing e-commerce solutions. I am just starting to
learn how ShopSite works. (I received a 24 hour tutorial login last week,
and dug around a bit.) So far, I really like what I see of Shopsite.
ShopSite¹s web site says that it can process Purchase Orders. I couldn¹t
figure out that process works in comparison to standard credit cards and a
payment gateway.

Does anyone know how the Purchase Order placement, tracking and processing
works? (Is this too vague a question?)

Thanks for any help you can provide. I am leaning toward ShopSite for
development, but want to know that it can do all that I need it to before I
commit to any one solution.

Orders using Purchase OrderWe accept POs from libraries and educational organizations. When processing an online order, the customer merely selects Purchase Order as a payment option (listed with VISA, MC, AMEX, Discover). On the ordering page just prior to finalizing, the customer is asked to enter their PO #.

We download the ShopSite orders into Stone Edge Technology's Order Manager and create/print an invoice for the customer. Order Manager knows how to accept the PO#.
