List orders in ascending value

I have changed the list of orders value to "order numbers ascending" but it still lists them in descending order (oldest orders at the top.) Am I doing something wrong?

Make sure you check the box Remember Search after selecting the Order Number Descending option.

Thanks, I did that but no change. Also deleted cookies. I just want to check: I have orders going from #1236 to #10450. I want to see #10450 at the top, not the bottom, of the list so I have changed it to Order Number Descending. If I do that and hit "search" it will bring it up correctly, but list all defaults to "order numbers ascending" each time, even if I have checked the 'remember search.'
