I want to allow a customer to choose a free sample (something that they can normally purchase from the site for about $1) with their order. I created the qualifying category as all of the products on the website and then the first sample they choose would be free. I put the qualifying quantity to 1, since the size of the order does not matter, all orders would get a free gift. The reward program is allowing customers to choose one reward for every one product that they order from the site. So I just had a customer order 15 items and get 15 reward items. How can I limit the free reward to just one per order?

I disabled the reward program until I can get it fixed, but you can see from my homepage what was intended.
I think I can work around the problem by renaming the free gift items so that they are different from the items that are sold on the website and then just add text to the website explaining that only 1 free item will be added to the order regardless of how many you put in the cart. But it doesn't sound very pleasant and it would be better if the program controlled this as I can forsee that being a problem with other reward programs in the future. I feel like I'm constantly looking for workarounds for the coupons and rewards program.
Thanks
