PayPal Advanced

I am interested in adding PayPal Payments Advanced, but don't see this option offered on my Shopsite dashboard. This is not the same as PayPal Pro. Is Advanced not compatible with Shopsite at this point? I have Shopsite Pro 11 sp2 r4. According to PayPal's website, it seems as if it should be.

Edited to add: I just went to my host account to do an upgrade, as I see you have r5 available. My host does not seem to have it available. Is this update crucial? Thanks.

Neither ShopSite 11 sp2 r4 or 11 sp2 r5 (the latest version at this time) are integrated with PayPal Advanced. The next version of ShopSite, anticipated to be released this fall, will include PayPal Advanced. The currently-supported PayPal options are:

PayPal Standard
PayPal Express Checkout
PayPal Website Payments Pro
PayPal Payflow Pro

We do not have an exact date. Version 12 is currently undergoing PCI auditing. Since it is a third party doing the auditing, we cannot control how long this process will take.

The last we heard from the PCI testing firm is that the project was larger than they had anticipated. They did not have enough time allocated for the testing and had to reschedule it for the last week in October. If they find any problems we will then need to fix those and submit it for testing again before we will be able to have the official release.

Where is your store hosted and what operating system is it using?

We use HostMonster, and the operating system is Linux.

So if the PCI firm just *starts* the project in two weeks, how long does it take from there to do the actual testing? Then we have to wait for HostMonster to do their testing.

We're not sure, it could be a couple of days to several weeks. Hopefully on the shorter side. I sent you a PM with more details.

v12 is out and ready for upgrade

Check with your host about upgrading your store. It sometimes takes them a while to actually get around to installing the latest version. Currently only the Linux version of ShopSite 12 is available, FreeBSD and Windows will be available in a few weeks.
