Add to Cart Button not working

Postby lpfansether » Wed Oct 09, 2013 9:51 pm

Hello,

I am using the Shopsite Starter Edition (with iPage subscription) and cannot seem to get my "Add to Cart" buttons to work. I am using the "Classy" theme with the "Olive" color scheme. The template seems to create a form element and immediately close the form element without putting any of the inputs within the form tags. You can see the store at:

Can anyone please tell me how I might be able to fix this?

Thank you

It looks like this page has been edited outside of ShopSite, and whatever/whoever edited screwed up the add to cart form by putting a </form> (closing form tag) right after the opening form tag, so the form fields/data and the form submit buttons are not even inside of the form, which is why they are doing nothing. So you either need to fix this in whatever was used to modify the page, or regenerate the page through ShopSite (which would wipe out your customizations).

The only thing that was edited outside of shopsite was the addition of an external CSS sheet.

Otherwise, the HTML is as was generated from Shopsite. I have tried to regenerate a few times, even without the addition of the external CSS sheet, with no luck.

So I've found out that the reason this is happening is because, in the template, the form element is being placed INSIDE the table element. Form elements are not allowed to span across multiple <tr> or <td> elements. The template should be changed to generate the form JUST OUTSIDE of the <table> element to display the product. I can go in and manually edit each of these, but it will be a pain as more products are added. It really would be nice to have the template generate the form element in the proper location.
