No handshake between processor and ShopSite

Postby bigcaat » Sun Aug 18, 2013 12:50 pm

I just started with ShopSite starter. I have everything set up, every time I do a test payment, it works fine. Then, in the first week I went live, I had 3 people for which it worked fine, all the rest, they've either gotten a 404 page upon submission, or an Internal Error page.

I contacted ShopSite, they said it had something to do with Buffer Overload and created a patch, which they put on my website. Now not only is the sale not completing, it isn't even making it to the payment processor. It just freezes. However, we cannot recreate the problem. Every test payment we put through goes through fine. My clients have paid through Mac and PC, through iPad, etc. We have not been able to find a common link.

Has anyone else had the problem? I'm starting to lose sales and reputation because of it.

Best,
Caat

When you say "Every test payment we put through goes through fine." does that mean you put the configuration into test/sandbox mode? Or do you mean you placed an actual order with your credit card and the store is in live mode?

Your live store account will not work in the test/sandbox account as that requires a special testing account. If you switched to sandbox mode and put in test account information to place the orders and then you just switched it back to Live mode that could be the problem since the test account info won't work with the live server.

What countries are you customers placing orders from? Could it be that they are using accented characters of some type in their names or addresses?
