How to control product display width?

Postby MgmtSpec » Fri Jul 26, 2013 5:14 pm

Hi,

Same site - this time product display issues...how can I control with of products. Seems if they have either qty pricing or
multiple drop down options - it pushes the display wide. I see no way in stock templates to control width - which I would expect
the CSS to calculate automatically.

See:
http://66.39.112.30/new-items.html - REALLY WIDE!

Suggestions how to resolve this so display is more even?

As mentioned in another response the width of the quantity pricing table and the number and length of the order options is causing the really wide columns. I think the biggest problem is the order optons on the page http://66.39.112.30/new-items.html#.UfNVxcW0JRo. I say this because one of your products has these options.body color, lid color, string color, stopper color, length of tee and number of imprint colors. That makes for a pretty long list of options. You could get around having the options all being listed in one long row by modifying the template and where the tag [-- Order_Option_Menu Line --] is replace it with [-- Order_Option_Menu Column --] which will force each option to a separate line so they are listed vertically instead of horizontally in a single line.

Hi,

Thanks - that worked great to resolve the options issue.

Now I need to resolve the Qty pricing issue. Looks like the table is controlled by the CSS classes
table class="qp_header"
td class="qp_quantitytxt"

Can I edit these styles to set a width? If I do, will the CSS get overwrote when I republish or update my version of SS?

Please advise!
Thanks!

You should be able to set a width for the class. Make sure you edit the template or css file itself and not the generated html page. Changing it in the template/css file will make it affective for all future pages that you publish. If you change in in the actual html page the next time you do a publish of the store the change will be overwritten.
