How do I specify specific shipping fees?

We have a product that we're moving from another ordering system into shopsite.

It has always been set up as follows.

Surface mail: $2.75 postage & handling
First-class mail: $4.75 postage & handling
International (via Airmail): $10.00 postage & handling

How would I make that happen in Shopsite?

First you need to edit the "Product": In "Advanced Editing Mode" pull up "Edit Product Info". Go to the "Shipping Charges" sub-section and you can set the shipping charges there. You can use the generic categories like "Shipping 3, Shipping 4, etc"

Now you can edit the "Shopping 3, Shopping 4" categories under "Preferences > Store Text > Shipping"

Finally, go to "Commerce Setup > Shipping" and select "Base Plus" then click "Configure". Check the boxes for the categories you set up and leave the dollar amount at $0

Thank you very much for the reply. Some of your descriptions don't look exactly like what I'm looking at, but that might be because I'm in a slightly older version of Shopsite -- Pro 10 sp2 r3.1.

It looks as if your suggestions would apply to all shipping on all my products. Is there a way (short of special programming) to apply these particular rates only to specific products?

Yeah you can specify shipping cost on a product-by-product basis by editing the shipping cost fields in the "Product" settings. That's what I've done for my products. Each product on my site has a flat fee charged for shipping and the fee varies by product and by the service they select (Ground vs Priority)

I can't see a way to set up shipping differently for each product. I can set up a different handling charge, but not shipping.

Is it possible that I have to enable some function elsewhere in the admin tool?

Can anybody verify that the feature wmbaskets is referring to is available in Shopsite -- Pro 10 sp2 r3.1?

Make sure you're not looking under the "Commerce > Shipping" section - that is not where you specify shipping charges for individual products.

You have to click "Products > Advanced Editing" then select a product from your list and click the "Edit Product Info" button. "Shipping Charges" is the fifth group of setting down from the top of the page.
