Bing Shopping

Postby Devon » Fri Jun 14, 2013 1:14 pm

The Bing shopping feed has to be a text-deliminted file - the Google shopping feed is an .xml file and I don't know how to convert it.

Is there a way to download or easily create an Bing shopping feed, or do I have to do it manually?

You can go to Utilites > Database > Download > Products and select the tab delimited format.

Then go to the Download Fields section and in the Use Field Map option click the Change button. Select the ShopSite fields you need from the left column and Add them to the right column. The select each field from the right column and in Field Label box you can give it a field name that Bing wants for that type of data, ( I added a "My Name" with the Name field selected) Then click the Change button and the name in the box above will change to something like My Name -> Name.

Once you have completed all the fields, use the Field map: box to give assign a name to what you have arranged, use something like Bing.txt so your remember what it is for and Save .

Now when you want to download the products in that field just select the Bing.txt from the list in the Use field map box and download.

Then do what ever you need to do to sent it to Bing.

Or you could try 3rd-party apps that create feeds for various shopping comparison engines and can import product data downloaded from ShopSite.

Check out the 'SmartFeed' product listed on the 3rd-party add-ons page here:

http://www.shopsite.com/partners-tools.html

There is also another one listed called 'ShopSite Google Product Search DataFeed Generator' that says "Imports your products and pages tables from ShopSite and Gagglebyte will process these tables to create a datafeed suitable for Shareasale, Commission Junction, Google Product Search and any of the Shopping Networks" but when I go to their site I don't see any information about that product anymore, so they may no longer offer it.

Thank you! I won't do this often enough to purchase a third-party app, but the download option is very doable.

I appreciate the help!
