Top Navigation Color

Postby LaurenH » Tue Jun 04, 2013 7:57 am

I recently uploaded the pages from my demo store to my existing store, and the top navigation bar is displayed as a deep maroon color, with black text, making it impossible to read. In my demo store the text is white on the top navigation bar, and I sort of remember having to change it, but I cannot remember how i got there. I tried changing the link color, and it changes the whole navigation bar, tried changing the text color and it effects the entire page. Any suggestions?

What theme have you selected? Changing the theme changes many of the color settings and those are not stored in the pages database but are in other settings files so they aren't always easy to move from store to store. If your demo store is still active you could compare the settings on the Preferences > Layout Setting of both stores and perhaps findout what field is being used.

If you view the html source of the page it should say what template is being used in the first few lines of the html. It will look something like this <meta name="generator" content="ShopSite Pro 11 sp2 (sc - 3Column.sst)"> Which indicates thepage is using the 3Column.sst template (from the sc directory which is where the ShopSite version of the templates are located). I the page is using a merchant created/modified template it will have "data" instead of "sc".
Once you know the template that is being used you can look at that template (or an include file of that template) and find out what field is used to change the color.

Jim,
I am using line sections. I actually figured out the the cached version of the site showed the text as black, but wheni cleared the cache in my browser it fixed the text.
Thanks!
