Product XML - Cross Sell

In the products XML, Cross Sell Items are additive only.

If I have a product with three cross sell items (A,B,C) and I want to change one of them - I send XML with three (A,B,D) and now I have four (A,B.C,D).

Please advise if there is a workaround.

Is there any update on this?
Or a new way of making an "absolute" method of assigning the cross sell items???
