Mobile Site Publishing.

Postby Gaspumpman » Thu Mar 14, 2013 11:36 am

I went through the Mobile config process several times today, chicked on the save changes button but the Publish tab never appeared and looking at the site on my phone, nothing has changed. Anybody know what I did wrong?

If the publish tab is not coming up, then go to Utilities > Publish to force a regeneration of your entire store. The mobile code needs to be published to all of your pages once the feature has been enabled.

Mobile pages are not generated like the static html pages, they are created on the fly by a cgi. So unless there was a change to a style sheet or javascript that is in the Publish directory there would be no need to publish, all you have to do is force the browser to refresh the page.

That page is generated by a very old page template that does not have the capability of having the mobile browser detection JavaScript added to it. Try changing the page template to the 'Lefty.sst' template, Save Changes, and Publish, then see if that makes a difference in your mobile browser.

Thanks that worked. Now all my PC pages are screwed up. I will have to figure out this template.
