Abandoned Shopping cart email to customer

Abandoned Cart

Hi

I am getting e-mail from other shopping systems featuring an automatic way to ping consumers that have put items into the shopping cart but do not complete the purchase. You can send them discount offers, coupons or other information. Does Shopsite have plans to offer this feature?

Abandoned Shopping cart email to customer

Postby sunshine » Sat Dec 08, 2012 10:18 am

I abandoned a shopping cart this morning and recieved an automatic email that I would really, really, really, like to have as part of the shopsite package.

It said:

In the subject line of the email: Complete Your Purchase At PicoTurbine International...

The body said:
Hi Madeline,

I agree an abandoned cart module is a critically needed enhancement to ShopSite.

How would you know their e-mail address? It would have to be pretty far down the sales process.
From my statistics I show that I have never had a customer abandon their order at the "confirm"
stage.

And I have to say that I would be very annoyed if I got an e-mail from a site that gleaned my
address from public records.

Abandoned Cart emails has been added to ShopSite v12 sp1:
http://shopsite.com/help/12.1/en-US/new-features.html

ShopSite can now (optionally) prompt shoppers for an email address when an item is added to the cart. If the shopper provides an email address (or is a registered shopper) and doesn't complete their order, ShopSite can email the shopper at a later date with a reminder about the items in the cart.

Exactly how is this feature implemented?

Does it work with any customized shopping cart page designs?
