Problems Uploading images

Postby don5695 » Fri Dec 21, 2012 5:41 pm

I am having issues uploading images from my computer. I am using Shopsite 11 Pro via my telephone and internet provider.
When I try to upload an image I get the following message: "Cannot open temporary file". I am using Mozilla Firefox, but I get the exact same message in Internet Explorer 8 as well. I tried to upload from our server, from my C: drive, same result.
Any ideas?

I am using Windows XP Pro.

Thank you,

Don

That type of error indictates a permissions problem on the server where your store is hosted. Where is your store hosted? If they are a ShopSite partner then they can probably help you out. If they aren't a partner and you have server access you might be able to fix it. There should be a directory ssm_tmp in both the ss and sc cgi directories. I'm not sure which one the image upload uses as its temporary file directory but you should check that both exist and they they have permissions such that the webserver user can read and write and execute .

The files are stored on a Cbeyond server. We are accessing the shopsite program via our Cbeyond online website. I will contact Cbeyond and have them help me.

Go to http://www.shopsite.com/demo.html and fill in your name and email address to get a demo store. You will receive an email with a link to the demo store in just a minute or so. Click on the link and sign in to the demo store. You can either go through the wizard or just click on the ShopSite in the navbar at the top of the page (on the first screen only) and choose to skip the wizard. Then go to the Images section and see if you can upload images into the demo store. This will tell you if the problem is with where your store is hosted or with your local computer configuration.
