order emails not coming through properly

our emails for orders come through with this message, ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors ----- <contactus@discountnaturalfoods.com>
(reason: 550 Authentication is required for relay)
the order though is attached

Any advice to resolve?

ShopSite does not use any authentication when sending email. So the smtp server or sendmail that you store is using must be configured so that it will allow emails from your store without authentication. If you are getting the emails then it may be working alright but if you are getting that error message you should check the setting so your mail to make sure they are configured correctly.

You should also check that shoppers are getting the email receipts. The easiest way to do this is to try placing an order yourself using an email address that isn't the one you have configured for your store's merchant email address.
