Issue with Google Feeds

I only have 27 products in my ShopSite but when the feeds are sent to Google Shopping/Merchant Center it shows 61 feeds are sent. My products have a pull-down menu with various options like color size etc.. Is each of this take as a separate product? eg black shirt, red shirt etc rather than the actual product shirt?

Yes, if you have advanced ordering options enabled then they are sent to Google as individual products. This is what Google started to require for certain types of product.
