Anywhere I can read on tips to do this? I am about to do an email campaign for this and was looking for advice.

It needs to be as a response to an email offer and not to random visitors to my web site (it's not a shopsite store but regular website).

The rewards program can do most of what you want to do. Just create a reward based on a product that you don't put on any store page. In you email send the OrderAnywhere link to the product. That way the only people who will be able to access the product are those who receive the email.

Depending on how many items you are offering the BOGO to you might need to create several links or a page not linked to any other ShopSite page that you direct the shoppers to go to in the email.
