Shipping charges different in 11 sp2?

Hello Folks,

We recently we upgraded to V11 SP4, r4 (we run ShopSite Pro). Since the upgrade we noticed that our UPS charges in our shopping cart have increased about three dollars on an average. We have not change any of our UPS configuration options on the shipping configuration. Of course UPS may have also updated their charges around the same time.

Has anybody else see their UPS charges increase (about $3.00) per order when the upgraded to sp2? It almost looks like a handling charge is being applied.

In ShopSite 11sp2 an additional section was added to the UPS configuration screen, Commerce Setup > Shipping > UPS -Configure > UPS Shipping Rates section Merchants can now choose which UPS shipping rate type they want their customers to received. Here are the fields.

UPS Shipping Rates
    Retail Rates
    Daily Rates
    Standard List Rates
    Account Based Rates
    Adjust rates by   percent (+ or -)


There was no option to select the type of shipping rates to display in previous versions. I don't know what was used previously but it was probably either the Retail Rates or the Standard List Rates.

So check the UPS configuration in your store decide which rates you would like to offer. The Account Based Rates requires that you have a special account with UPS and get discounted rates because of that.

Hello Jim,

This is just a follow up so others may experience from what we found.

When we were upgraded from 11 SP1 to SP2 r4, the shipping rates for UPS was set to 'Retail rates'. What we found was the same as we had before (what I though was called 'published rates') is the "Standard List Rates" The Retail rates are about $3.00 more than the Standard rates. So we reset the rate option and we are now pricing UPS the way we did in 11 SP1.
