Product Layout and Order Anywhere

Hello,

So I created a product and used the embed code from Order Anywhere and stuck it in a table on my web page and it looks nice enough. But the only layout it seems to like is the image to the left and the text to the right. But I would like the image to be on top. And I'd like the separate lines of the text like the price and the SKU to be on their own lines which is not now the case. I have experimented with different default settings in the Product preferences and the Help manual is extremely helpful. For example, inline graphic over text seems to be just about what I want but I can't get it to apply to the products I have created or any new products.

I can see some options where using the HTML code would give me more options but then I'd have to do more work to get the layout right. Just wondering if there were any shortcuts.

It uses a custom template for display so all you have to do is create the template the way you like it and then assign that as the template in the order Anywhere code.

OK, I understand what you're saying. I even found the template and although I don't completely understand the code/php tags etc. it looks like I could modify it by adding some <tr> and <td> tags to get the elements to line up the way I want them. I also think I could possibly make a scratch default template using the tag dictionary you supply in your Help section.

What I don't understand is why I can't accomplish the same thing by going to Configure Product Defaults and setting the template to Inline Graphic Over Text. Why doesn't that work?

The "inline graphic over text" is not a custom template, it is an old "C" language template. The "C" code templates won't work with the embedded code, or most of the custom templates. They are not updated with newer features and are only provided for backwards compatibility if someone upgrades from an old version of ShopSite.

Other C based Product templates are: Default product template ,Graphic over text, Compact product template, Compact graphic over text, Inline product, Inline graphic over text and One line. So none of these can be used with the embedded OrderAnywhere code.

Your suggestion of adding the necessary table tags to the existing template would be a reasonable solution.

Well, I did it. I used <tr> and <td> tags to edit the template so the image is on top and the data is in nice rows beneath it. I got very lucky. Consider this solved.
