Facebook Like Box on home page

Hi -
I hope someone can help..

I've been using Shopsite for years, and many months back, I incorporated a "Like Box" to my home page. The Facebook Like Box (unlike the standard like button) allows visitors to see the most recent timeline comments/shares which are streamed from my company Facebook page. It worked perfectly for quite a long time, but about two months ago, something changed. I use to be able to post shared links from other sources that were related to our business. Every link always had a thumbnail, but now, it no longer displays the accompanied thumbnail for the article. On my actual facebook page, it works perfectly, but in the streamed like box off my home page, it's just the link and comments, no thumbnail. I have the code in my text 3 box in my shopsite page content.

I don't know if this is a facebook or shopsite issue, so forgive me in advance. I've googled this subject to death (for weeks on end) and can't seem to come up with any solution.

I haven't seen other reports of that problem. Facebook has made a lot of changes to their interface so it is entirely possible that they changed something that caused it to not work as it did previously.

Well, I've come to the conclusion that any links I share from my own site must have those FaceBook Open Graph Meta tags added. If this is the case, this means all of product pages (which is over 900) will need to have these tags at some point. I hope in some future ShopSite update, there will be a way for this code to be generated automatically with each product entry.

As for now, I'm assuming if I want to add this code, they must be added to each product's Meta Tag Description?

I went to this page https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like-box/ and the first note I saw was
"he minimum supported plugin width is 292px."

On your page the box has width=220. Try changing your settings to larger than the minimum size and see if that helps.

Thanks, Jim - but I wish it were that easy; that was the first thing I tried...back in July. You can test the plug-in directly off the FB dev site to save the step of having to cut/paste while testing code. Unfortunately, even with the 292 pixel width, the results are the same. I even increased the width resolution.

EDIT: I've officially ditched this idea. I'll just stick with a plain ol' "Like Button". I'm sure it's something that Facebook changed along the way, in keeping with their usual "lets make things more complicated" theme.
