Accepting payments does not seem to be working, please help!

Postby charlie1983 » Thu Sep 27, 2012 1:22 am

Hi I have set-up my website, I have upgraded my paypal to business and configured the payment screen in shopsite backoffice to be paypal standard, accepting most cards with manual off-line processing, I did a dummy order with my visa card, I have the order with the card details, am i being dumb or do I have to manually process these details? I have provided my paypal merchant email address when i set-up payments. If i have to process this myself, how do I go about it with paypal? As im an individual with no other means than paypal, or If I choose a processor to do card payments, how do I configure this and what do I need to do extra as I have the website and paypal business account, please help as I cant 'go live' until this is sorted.

Many Thanks,

Charlie :D

Charlie,

If you want all orders to be processed via PayPal Standard, then you must have only that selected in the ShopSite Backoffice under Commerce Setup > Payment. If you have credit cards selected in ShopSite and manual (off-line) processing, then the order is simply captured and stored in the ShopSite database; it is not processed through PayPal. I do not know if it is possible to manually process outside orders with PayPal. I would suggest contacting PayPal concerning that.

If you want customers to be able to select credit cards as their payment method, stay on your website, and have the order processed in real-time, then you will need to add a payment gateway such as PayPal Payments Pro (or another with which we integrate). Note that PayPal Payments Pro cannot be used with PayPal Standard and must instead be used with Express Checkout.
