Cart Suddenly Stops Working

Hi,

I hope someone can help. My site is suddenly having problems and I didn't change anything. The customer was able to go through the order process and place an order. I received information and payment from Paypal, but not the order notification from Shopsite. The order is not there when I log into the backend either. The only thing I did was enable stats tracking with my service provider, but don't see how this would affect ordering. At this point I have the customer's money but have no idea what they actually ordered!

Any ideas on what could be going wrong?

Changes made by PayPal have caused this issue. We are working on a fix / work-a-round for the issue. Once we have something final a post will be made to the forum and a kbase article will be created.

In the mean time, if you have access to your stores data directory you can edit the file paypal.aa do the following

Change the line containing:
ACGI: cgi-bin/webscr

To now say:
ACGI: /cgi-bin/webscr
(Note the addition of the slash '/' before cgi-bin)

Ok, I was able to change the directory via my host, but the order is still not appearing in my Shopsite dashboard. Do you know about how long this takes? Thanks.,

The order came through. FYI: Took about an hour after adding the "/".

I made the fix and received the order that was in holding from yesterday. I haven't gotten any orders today...is this just coincidental or could it be a remnant of this issue? Thanks.

Do you have orders in your PayPal account that came in today? The orders in question previously did make it into the PayPal account, but they didn't make it into the orders in the backoffice of the store. So if you don't have any new orders in your PayPal account then there weren't any new ones today, so the couldn't showup in your ShopSite backoffice.

I have received a number of emails from PayPal over the last couple of days with various issues they have been experiencing so it is possible that people tried to order but couldn't because of something on PayPals site. Hopefully everything will settle down over the next couple of days.

Nothing in my PayPal account, so it's just that I didn't get orders. My concern was that buyers were trying to get through but couldn't.

I'm sure (hoping) this is top priority for PayPal?

I ordered something from my own site and shows up fine in my Shopsite dashboard. Just an off-selling day.
