Editing Buyer's Email Gift Certificate Message

Postby lbohen » Mon Sep 10, 2012 5:27 am

We want to edit a particular customer's message to the recipient in an email gift certificate. We have gone from Merchandising-->Gift Certificates to the specific gift certificate and don't see that we can edit the message to the recipient.

Can this be done?

How?

The gift certificate emails typically only include a few basic bits of information such as the recipent name, any gift message added by gifter, gift certificate number and gift certificate pin. To add messages, you will likely need to modify the template itself (Merchandising > Custom Templates > Advanced > Gift Cert Template.

The customer already has a message for the gift recipient. We want to edit the message.

There is currently no method built into ShopSite to allow changing the message of a gift certificate. I'll add that as an enhancement request. However this is the first time that I am aware of that anyone has asked to be able to do that.

Probably the easiest thing to do would be to issue a new gift certificate for the amount of the old one add the updated message and cancel old certificate.
