Customer Email rejected for too many periods

We've had several customers call in and complain that the shopping cart will not accept their email address. All of these customers have addresses with many periods (.) like JohnSmith@wsu.ut.k154.org. Is there a way to change the email validation script to allow these addresses?

What version of ShopSite are you using? I just placed a test order in my store (using the latest 11 sp2 r3 version of ShopSite) using the address test@wsu.ut.k154.org and it went through fine. Of course that is likely a bogus email address so the receipt email will bounce, but at least the address wasn't rejected by the cart for too many periods.
