Fedex Blocking a Zip Code

Hello. We are using the FedEx gateway for real time shipping quotes. Yesterday a valid zip code was blocked. We checked the zip code on our manual FedEx Terminal and it was accepted. Here is the error we get back:

"FedEx Shipping: Unable to match postal code '39819' to a state or province."

Can someone try that zip code in their ShopSite system using FedEx to see if it is accepted.

I would welcome any ideas for how to check/debug this or where to start. Is there a particular number at FedEx for checking the FedEx gateway?

It gives the error message you posted.

Since ShopSite is passing the zipcode to FedEx and they are the ones returning the error it is a problem on the FedEx server. I don't know how recently that zipcode was created but it may be new and they haven't added it to their zipcode tables yet.

I tried the same zip with UPS and USPS and both of those returned rates.

I asked our developer to see if he can log what is being sent to FedEx for that zip and what is actually being returned, just in case there is a problem on the ShopSite side. If nothing turns up then your best bet would be to contact FedEx and let them know they have a problem.

Do you have access to the data directory of your ShopSite store? If you do, then you can edit the text file there called state_zips.dat and find the line that currently looks like:

|GA 30???,31???

and change it to:

|GA 30???,31???,398??
