What is the correct size for a Mobile Header Image or Banner?

Small enough to fit the screen, Big enough to be noticed.

There are so many different mobile devices out there that it is hard to say what size is best. You might want to do a web search for mobile device screen size and see what comes up.

I found one article that was quite informative, http://mobiforge.com/designing/story/effective-design-multiple-screen-sizes .
With the css and html5 it is possible to vary the content to fit many different devices and have it still look good. It may take some work to do that but it is probably worth looking into.
