RE: Old Pictures Showing in Cross-Selling

I've assigned the images from one of my image directories and when I see the images in the directory, it is current images. However, when they are assigned in the cross-sell function, they are old images. How do I fix this?

I am constantly saving over the same image file with a new image using the same name since that is important for our site to be up to date. Please advise!

This is probably a browser caching issue, where the browser keeps a copy of the image that it loaded so that it doesn't have to download it the next time that the image is called for. By using the exact same name for the image, the browser thinks it doesn't have to load a different image.

You should find the option in your browser to clear the cache and you will probably see the new images. This can also usually be done by forcing a refresh of the screen by right clicking and selecting the Reload or Refresh page option. Closing all instances of the browser and opening it again will also usually force the page to be completely reloaded.

Thanks for the quick response. I should have noted that I had already cleared the cache and browsing history in IE, Firefox and Chrome before sending this inquiry...any other ideas on why it would be holding on to old images?

What is an example of where this is occurring? What should the picture be and what are you seeing?

Have you changed the page that the picture is displayed on?
Have you published after an change was made?
If you make a text change on a page where the image displays do you see the change to the text? Maybe the page is no longer being managed by ShopSite so it isn't being updated.
