Availablity And Taxonomy Attributes

Postby Jenny » Wed Jun 20, 2012 5:45 am

Prior to upgrading to V11 Shopsite Pro, we had entered Availability and Taxonomy fields per Google requirements. We just upgraded and Version 11 has areas for these. Right now Google has our feed flagged for having too many attributes. During the upgrade, our available for order items listed correctly under the fields we set up, but the areas within V11 indicate these items are in stock. Is "in stock" the default? We have two listings for in stock items and these processed successfully. Is it best to delete the fields previously set up for available for order items and use the areas within Version 11 to indicate these attributes or do they just have to match?

Yes, 'in stock' is the default for the Google Product Search 'availability' field. Yes, if you had previously set up custom fields to provide the 'availability' field to Google, then you should remove that (remove your custom field from the list of fields being sent to Google).

See:

Also note that after you upgrade to ShopSite 11 sp1 that has the specific 'availability' setting added for each product, you will need to remember to go to the Merchandising -> Google Services -> Product Search -> Configure menu and deselect the Product Field in the Attributes section so that a duplicate 'availability' attribute is not submitted in the feeds.
