Incorrect Shipping rates

Postby peteuga » Wed Jun 06, 2012 8:53 am

I have 1 product on several hundred that does not calculate shipping correctly.

Product: 20x20 non-woven inserts $6.73 located here http://www.pillowflex.com/homestore.html

Our negotiated FedEx rates are much better than our UPS rate but this product always show UPS as cheaper and shows the wrong FedEx rate, I see not any difference in this products set up than any of the other products

Shipping and Download Information
Weight: 6 lbs
Shipping Dimensions:
Ship by weight only (dimensions not used)
(Shipping Setup)
FedEx Shipping Container: none selected
USPS Shipping Container: none selected

No Shipping Charges: Check here to NOT apply shipping charges on this product (not checked)
Extra Handling Charge: none selected
Product Type: Tangible

Any Ideas???

Shipping to zip 84097 I get these rates>
FedEx Ground® ($7.99)
UPS Ground ($10.79)
Parcel Post® ($13.62)

So FedEx is definitely cheaper for me. Are you sure that you are selecting the same product? Do you perhaps have a product of the same name but with a space or other non-visible character at the beginning of the name so you get the wrong one in the backoffice?

The shipping rate for 2 is more expensive, twice as much. That makes me wonder if you have a maximum package weight set for FedEX but not the same value for UPS.

Check under Commerce Settings > Shipping > UPS and FedEx > Configure and see what you have set for minimum, maximum package weights.

Max weight is set to 56 lbs. I have the item in question listed as a 6 lbs shipping weight.

I don't know of any specific issue regarding this type of issue being logged or fixed since ShopSite 11 sp1 r2 which your store is running. I know there were some changes to shipping in 11sp2, so you might try using the same data and account settings in a ShopSite 11sp2 demo store. (You can sign up for one at http://ademostore.com/cgi-bin/ssdemos/start.cgi?demo=store&storename=evaluate ) See if anything has changed in how the rates are calculated and if it works you might want to get your store upgraded to the latest 11sp2.
