checkout image upload

Postby almostTHERE » Thu May 31, 2012 5:56 pm

Hi,
Website's almost finished! Yesterday I had the secure images working on the checkout page. Today, after the upgrade to Shopsite 11, can't get them to work. Any suggestions? What worked yesterday was "https://mystorename.com/store/media/name.gif" typed in on the checkout form where you upload images ( "store text" - "checkout").

Thanks in advance... Druh

Do you have a secure certificate for your domain name? Or are you using a shared certificate from your host?
Can you actually view the image if you enter the url that you put in the input field?

I am using a shared certificate from my host. I can view the images in question if I type the path into the address bar with the http:// prefix, but if I type in https:// I get a FORBIDDEN message. "You don't have permission to access /store/media/Confirm.gif on this server." So, still without my custom images.
Thank-you for your prompt reply. Druh

Wow! The one thing I didn't try: I just changed my files to http:// instead of https:// and they work!!!!! Yay!!!!! I guess they don't need to be secure anymore or they've built in some internal security thing for that page! Success!

You should be able to contact your host and find out what the proper secure url for your images is. If the images on secure pages are being loaded from a non-secure url the browser will give a warning saying that some of the content is not secure. IE typically blocks pages that have that kind of content by default, so unless the shopper knows how to get around the browser warning you may lose customers.

Hi, I am now using my proper shared SSL address for these images, so my checkout is secure, and Internet Explorer customers won't be scared off. Thank-you for telling me about this, because I would have just gone with the insecure addresses and been totally unaware of the IE issues.
