The HostMonster situation is somewhat unique because a third-party application, SimpleScripts, performs all of the ShopSite installs and upgrades. So Hostmonster merchants have to wait on SimpleScripts to integrate the upgrade and test it to make sure it works. I do not know the ETA for 11 sp2, but I do know in the past SimpleScripts has usually been able to offer the upgrade within a few months after the release.

Ugh, a few months? I was hoping they would be available much sooner than that. Is there any way around this, i.e. paying someone at Shopsite to install?

Not that I am aware of. If someone at ShopSite were to manually upgrade your store, I understand that it affects the connection that store has with SimpleScripts (such as preventing them from being able to upgrade the store in the future).
