Credit Card Security Code -- how do I collect it?

Postby Ian Harper » Fri Dec 06, 2002 2:48 pm

I've got a question about the credit card security code, that 3-4 digit
number printed in non-raised numbers on the front (AMEX) or back (MC, Visa)
of most credit cards:

How do I collect it as part of an order? I want customers to be able to
input their security code in a window that's right next to the one where
they put the actual credit card number. How is this possible?

Thanks,

Ian

Ian,

First you have to be using ShopSite v6 or greater to collect the CVV2 (AKA
Card Verification Value, AKA lots of other names too) code. Go to Commerce
Setup -> Payment, and click the Configure Processor button and you should see
the two checkboxes, one to enable the CCV2 field on the checkout form, the
other to make it a required field. The only processor that does not have this
option is Cybercash. If you are not using a realtime gateway, you are in Manual
mode, but you can still click the Configure Processor button and the only
options you should see there are these CVV2 options.
