create a popup in the Shopping Basket?

Postby Shiperton Henethe » Thu Nov 28, 2002 7:07 am

ShopSite SC 6

Hi

Is there any way to create a popup in the Shopping Basket?

My client wants a popup saying "Dont forget to select your
sizing!"

I dont know much Javascript but as far as I can tell
you need to put the program in to the HTML page header
between the <head> and </head> tags.

with thanks

PS Also if the user clicks on "sizing table" we would like
that to come up in a small-ish window, and I have a feeling
that this requires Javascript too...

i.e. Is there any way to get access to the HTML header in
ShopSite shopping basket? (My understanding being that
that would be the only way to write JavaScript into the
shopping basket page!)

P.S. I am told I need to investigate DHTML... about which
I know very little, though I am concerned about reverse
compatability...

Try this:

------------------------------------------
<script language="javascript">
<!--
alert("Don't forget to select your sizing!")
//-->
</script>
------------------------------------------

Insert that into the "Text at the Top of the Shipping Screen" or "Text
at the top of the shopping cart screen" (wherever you want it--I guess
shopping cart screen works better for that particular message) field
under Commerce Setup and it should work.

Since you are using ShopSite 6.1 you could just include a ;n after the
first order option like this
*UK Size?*;n
and ShopSite will display a message if the shopper tries to checkout
without making a selection.

Yeah but have you seen the error message page it throws up?!
It's extremely ugly, unhelpful, & difficult/impossible
to configure (I still havent decided which, yet...)
