search error

I am using ShopSite Pro version 10. I have not been able to get the search function to work properly. First it returned too many unrelated results. Then I recently added words to the stop list and it quit functioning all together with an error message as follows: Query failed: no such table: ss_s_SearchLog(1) . Any help would be appreciated.

Barbara, it doesn't look like you have the search field enabled for any of your ShopSite created pages. If ShopSite does not have any pages that are using the search feature, ShopSite simply turns off/ignores the search feature. Make sure at least one of your ShopSite pages is using the search feature (Pages > Edit Page Content, check the checkbox to show the product search field on that page).

It sort of worked at one time. It was returning too many items. Then I added words to the stop. Then the error started to appear. Then I removed the search from all but one page so as not to scare away customers. I did not change the settings that included pages in the search index.
