User Reviews?

This might be a stupid question - but is there a "User Reviews" option for product more info pages?

Are there any well know add-ons we could download elsewhere to add this functionality?

this is not something that is built into ShopSite, but the two review applications that I have seen used in ShopSite stores are PowerReviews and the LexiConn reviews module.

Generally that is handled by contacting your hosting provider.

I use HostMonster. One person told me to look at my notices on my dashboard to look for updates, but he didn't have an ETA for when the testing will be done. Do you know anything about this? Hopefully this won't be an indefinite wait?

Who is testing, Host Monster or ShopSite?

I'm on Verio servers... wonder what the situation is there...

ShopSite has release version 11 sp2 for the Linux platform (other OS version will be a couple of weeks). After the release most hosting partners also test it on their servers so that can take some time. I hate to say it but sometimes if you keep hounding your host it gets done a little faster.

Depends on the host, some do the testing at the same time as ShopSite, (beta/pre-release) as Lexiconn does. Some start testing when we issue the release and will take a couple of weeks for their internal testing. Some take months and then release it to their clients, only if the client requests the upgrade. And some are still running ShopSite 10.0 after 4 major versions of ShopSite have been released.

As is often the case, "you get what you pay for". Some times the difference in price is more than worth the cost in frustration.

I'm also on Verio and they just (two days ago) upgraded me from V10 sp1 to V11 sp1. I asked for the latest and that is what I got.

I won't go into the painful details of how long it took me to get Verio to respond to my request, but I will suggest that unless you get to level 2, don't even waist your time. Level 2 support is decent. Level 1 is worthless. You might find the best way to do it, is to just submit a request via their online support. Good luck.

Yeah I usually call in, because the email support is pretty terrible... I'm pretty sure that's outsourced based on the responses I've been receiving lately. I have had good luck with call ins though. Did they handle the upgrade for you then?

I talked to my host / reseller / supplier Verio about the ShopSite upgrade, and they did the update for me in response to my support ticket. I'm going to check out that reviews are now available, but just wanted to share that little tidbit of info.

Thanks for sharing. Nothing yet from HostMonster, although I did call and email. They unfortunately don't have an ETA. Anyone else hear anything differently?
