Shipping costs cannot be computed for some items

Postby results » Mon Dec 05, 2011 2:21 pm

I started out with a demo cart. Set up a couple of products, worked on the templates, set up shipping with our FedEx account, and did a couple of test orders with check since the gateway's not established.

Set up an actual ShopSite Pro account with one of your hosting partners. Exported the demo store and my web host imported the data for me. I've gotten to the point that cart is pretty much fully styled.

Adding product to cart works fine. Once I try to work in the cart screen (remove a product, recacluate tax based upon ANY zip code, checkout, etc), I get the above error. I've gone through each screen of the new cart and compared it with the demo cart. Don't see a difference.]

I did delete the Canadian Provinces and Alaska and Hawaii from the State Drop Down Menu, as our product will not be sent there.

I've got the cart set to use ONLY FedEx Next Day or 2nd Day shipping. Tax is added ONLY to Maine Zip Codes. The two products have weights (6 and 10 lbs respectively) and dimensions.

Not sure what else could be wrong?

[On a side note, it would be great if there was a BACK button to a current search. I've done a few searches on this forum. Once you click on an item showing in your results, BACK TO FORUM or browser back button take you to forum home. If you do too many searches in a short time (which is necessary in this case if the answer wasn't what you were looking for) you get an error that "search is not available at this time, try again later". Delete cookies, restart. Loop around, etc. Thanks]

If you just unzipped the export of your demo store into another store all eincrypted values will not be able to be decoded, unless the auth files for the two store are identical. So you will need to go to places in the back office where you have entered username, password etc and manually change those so they can be encrypted properly. Areas that you will need to check are all payment gateway settings, UPS, USPS, Fedex shipping method, AvaTax tax method, Orders Security settings, Remote Database for orders, Order Merchant Key, User Accounts (if you enabled them), Google Services etc. There may be others so just go to various screens and see if you get a Explode message in any field, which indicates that the data was not able to be decrypted.

Awesome. Yes, that's exactly the problem. FedEX No was exploded.

Thanks for the quick response.
