access to store

Postby tsinapah » Mon Nov 28, 2011 11:07 am

Hi, I have a question that may sound stupid for some of you but as it is my first Website, I would like to know how it works.
Well, when I installed Shopsite, it asked me where to install it : it suggested www.myDomain.com
so, I creatd a file to install it and I installed it into www.myDomain.com/shopsite
On my Website , I have a page called store and it is at www.myDomain.com/store.html
I would like customers to land on the Shopsite when they click on "store" in the menu.
How can I do that?
Thanks in advance for your help

Well, in fact, after double checking, it looks like the URl to my store is http://www.myDomain.com/shopsite/index.html
I got this form "preferences/hosting service.
I just have the feeling it does not look good...
I need help here
Thanks

If you want your site at http://www.myDomain.com/index.html then when you installed the site you needed to have specified http://www.myDomain.com. Some webhosts automatically make the url to a specified path such as /shopsite to prevent the install from wiping out any existing pages in your root domain url. You would need to check with your host to see if it can either be moved (requires a bunch of work) or uninstalled and then reinstalled with the domain url that you want.
