Coupon - Reward Question

How can I configure coupons/rewards so that if a shopper purchases a minimum of $25, then they receive Item A free?

There isn't a way to do exactly that. There is the rewards option, buy 1 get 1 free. There is the discount schedule, spend x amount get x discount. and there is a coupon option where you can say spend x get x discount on x products. You can setup what you are trying to do with a coupon, but it does not get applied to the cart automatically, it needs to be applied with a coupon code or coupon link.
