Cross Product Placement and Link to Search

I have two questions.

1. Is there a way that I could customize the placement of the cross sell products? I am looking to place it on the right side of a page going down on the more info page.

2. Is there a way to have the visitor click on a category (see below) and a search be automatically done for that category. For example, if the visitor clicked on Traumatic Stress all Traumatic Stress books would be displayed. If clicked on Anxiety all books having to do with Anxiety would be shown on the search results page.

The placement of the cross sell items is determined by the template. There are some themes that display the cross sell items on the right side of the more information pages. If you are using a theme that doesn't and you want to move them, you would need to modify the template.

For your second question, you could setup pages in your store for each category or you could setup links that already have the search term pre-programmed in. For the first option is it just a matter of setting up categories (Pages > Add A Page), and assigning the items (Page > Assign Items). For links with pre-programmed searches, you will need to take all information from the search form, including the search field with the search term pre entered.

Can you provide me with the search code for the pre-programmed search link. I do not want to assign products to a category page because would need to update pages every time I enter a new item. Want a search results page to be displayed with the pre-programmed search items.

Also can only certain search fields be used in a paricular search? For example, if I only want a search to search a SKU is that possible. I want searches to only look in certain fields. Don't want to set it globally on the indexing page in the preferences menu.

The search links would look similar to the following (replacing the tags with your store information). You can't setup the search so that the customer can choose what fields to search in, but you as the merchant can choose which fields are indexed and which are not, as well as the priority of those fields. You could specify this information by going to Preferences > Search Settings > Search Indexing.
