feeling like an idiot - Quantities for product pages?

Hello.... first time poster, helping out a friend with getting his ShopSite (free version) store up and running.

I'm having a hell of a time getting quantities to show up on the product pages. Sure, you can edit them once the item has been added to the cart, but he wants the ability for quantities to be set prior to the user adding the item to the cart. Seems simple enough, except for the fact that I've tried numerous combinations of store themes with product themes per the help's recommendations, and the only product theme I can get the quantity to show on the product page is the BasicProductMatrix, which is as crappy as the come (no picture, no text formatting..... ugh!).

Anyone with some advice on how to solve this, assuming it's an oversight on my part?

Displaying the product quantity field and any product ordering options (such as pull down menus or a text entry field) on the store pages is something that is only available in ShopSite Manager and ShopSite Pro. ShopSite Starter only displays the product information with the add to cart button as a link.

Thanks for the info Lauren..... at least I now know I'm not 100 percent crazy.

I'll be sure to let him know that if it's a requirement, he'll need to purchase one of the pay-to-play versions.

I am not familiar with ShopSite Starter (I use pro) so I do not know if it has "Order Anywhere" options that give you code you can place on any page. If it does, you can build your own page and simply adjust your HTML input option.
