Variable Price Minimum/Maximum setting

Does anyone know if it's possible to set a minimum and maximum about for a product? I have the variable pricing enabled but want the amount entered to be between $5-$250. These are gift cards.

You can set a product price, which would be the minimum, but you wouldn't be able to specify a maximum.

Is this the best way to setup up gift cards (as a product) or is there a better way?

ShopSite Pro does have a Gift Certificate feature. However if you have ShopSite Manager, or if these are gift cards for in store use not online use, you can use the variable pricing feature like you mention, which is nice for customers so that they can specify the exact amount they would like to gift, or you can create a single product that has a pull down menu with the step value you want. You could setup the $5 charge for the product, but then have a pull down menu where customers can change the amount to $10, $15... etc. You setup ordering options/pull down menus by going to Products > Edit Product Info, and enter something similar to the following in the pull down menu field.

$10;+5
$15;+10
$30;+25
$50;+45
$100;+95
$200;+195
$250;+245

Any of those three options will work, Gift Cert, Variable Price, Ordering Options, it is just a matter of what you prefer as a merchant, or aesthetically.
