Page width using Clean template

Postby pennyweight » Thu Jun 16, 2011 2:32 pm

Hi. I would like to change the width of the pages in my site. I tried to use the solution I found in the Forum with the Modern template and nothing changed. Suggestions?

What theme or template are you using? Have you tried using the Pages > Edit Page Layout > Page Width: field?

There are probably style sheets that could also affect the width so you may have to edit the template or included files and see what style is affecting the page width.

A link to the page you are having the problem with would be helpful.

Thank you for your response. I have tried to change the width under preferences and no luck. I edited clean.css and that didn't work either. Using the Clean template without modifications. The site is:

Thank you!

How wide do you want the pages to be? Your header image is 743 pixels wide, There is 75 pixels padding on the left and the right side of the header and the search form input box looks like it takes up maybe 250 or so pixels wide. Add that all up and you get about 1143 pixels wide.

If you want to make it narrower you could change the padding for the left and right, make the search field have a smaller input length, and make your header image smaller.

Hi Jim,

Thanks. It seems obvious now that you've pointed it out to me!
