css and shopsite

Postby Jean Yates » Fri Nov 01, 2002 7:32 am

Any way to apply css to shopsite? I know I can upload a css page to the
folder, but can I put span tags in names? I'm sure CSS in text1, text2, etc
would work, but what about name, price, page name, etc fields?

Or is there a way to change the default font from times roman? Gosh after
working with Shopsite for 3 years I am sick of times roman.

Thanks,

Jean

Times Roman is probably your browser's default, I can't think of anywhere
ShopSite specifies to use that font. There is no real way that I know of that
works in all browsers to set a default font for an entire HTML page without
using CSS. Even using a font tag in your page header will not guarantee that
the font will stay the rest of the way through the document, because table tags
can sometime cut off the effectiveness of previous font tags.

You can use CSS tags in almost any text field in ShopSite except those that are
for special purposes (price and weight, for example, you can't put anything but
numbers in those fields).

Your best bet to get things exactly how you want them is by creating a custom
page template and custom product template. If you have more complicated css
that requires adding it into the HEAD section and/or including a .css file from
your HEAD section, then you should definitely consider custom templates.
