Help with Coupons

Postby vwdforums » Thu May 05, 2011 11:57 am

I have a client who wants to know if Shopsite can do this type of coupon (below). Here is how she is describing it.

"For example if the customer has a coupon for $40 but wants to buy a $30 t-shirt only, they should be allowed to purchase it, and the remaining $10 will go unused. Is this possible to set up this way?"

I am using Shopsite 10. I cannot figure out how to set this up or if it's possible. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

No that can't be done. A coupon is for a percentage off or a specific $ amount off of the total. Coupons don't have an intrinsic value like $40, that sounds more like it would be a gift certificate. With ShopSite Gift Certificates any balance after the certificate is partially used remains and could be used on a future purchase.

Thanks I appreciate the reply. So let's say they decide to go with Gift Certificates. Do you know if we can import a group of gift certificates and bypass the pin requirements of a gift certificate at checkout?

No, there is currently no way to import gift certificates, or to by pass the pin requirement.
