Automatically add reward?

I'm setting up a Buy 2 Get 1 Free offer through the Reward Program. Is there any way to automatically add the reward to the shopping cart? It just displays a notice that a buyer has qualified then they have to go to another page and order additional product and figure out how many they qualify for (if they bought 5 they would get 2 free, buy 6 they get 3 free). I need it to add the reward without making the customer jump through hoops.

There is no way to automatically add a reward product when the shopper reaches the number of qualifying products. There could be different reward items and there is no way the cart can determine which item the shopper might like as the reward. If the reward is 1 for each 2 they purchase, they would be advised that they qualify for a reward each time they meet the qualifications.

That does not even work. If they order 4 products the system adds 3 plus one free to the cart rather than the 4 they order plus the 2 free ones. No matter how many they order, they still get only one free.

What I have seen done with the reward is instead of including a link to a page in your store, you include the OrderAnywhere add to cart URL. When a customer has earned a reward, a reward box is displayed with a link to wherever you want, it could be a link to a page which describes the reward, or a link to a page where they can select from a list of rewards. If the reward is always the same product, then you can specify that product's add to cart URL as the URL that the link links to. This would make it so that when the custom clicks the link saying that they have earned a free reward, it will automatically add the product rather than take them to another page. You can grab the product add to cart URL by going to Merchandising > OrderAnywhere > Show URLs.

If the reward is 1 free for 2 purchased of the same thing, then when they add 4 to the cart one of those will be marked as free since they had 2 that they were paying for. The fourth would count toward the next reward quantity. So if they add another one they would then see the message that they qualified for another reward. They could then add another and it would be free.

Sorry but that is not workable. It has to be foolproof and self explanatory. I wound up creating a 3 pack offer so customers could also get the quantity discount. It's not ideal but it does not require the customer to try and figure out what to do. BOGO offers are really basic to retail. There needs to be a simple way to implement them.
