External Product Feed into my shopsite store

Postby BRITANUCK » Tue Mar 29, 2011 9:54 am

Hi!

Ok, we have a company who is selling a vast line of designer watches that we wish to feature on our site. They have all the stock and images and descriptions and prices etc.

They have a feed that they update themselves dynamically as they have tabs on all their current inventory and the amounts. Any sales we make though our site, we make a percentage etc.

they have close to 1000 styles of watch (that my boss) wants to feature.

Is it possible to set up this feed to display products within my shopsite store using my current custom templates and our cart? I hope ive made myself clear here, my apologies if i haven't.

I am running SSpro 10. I saw under Utilites> backoffice UI> RSS reader module: Thing...

Am i looking in the right place, and if so..is there any other info available about setting this up other than the current shopsite help that doesn;t really tell me much about this and if its the right path i should be talking in figuring this out.

Thanks so much for any and all help here.

If the supplier provides the product data in a tab delimited format you could upload the data manually to your store using the database up-load format under Utilites > Database > Upload.. There is also the option to programmatically upload data that is in an xml format. Information on writing the script to do this can be found at
http://shopsite.com/help/10.2/en-US/sc/pro/database.automated_XML_upload.html

ShopSite has also integrated with a dropship company called Doba
http://www.doba.com/dropship-free-trial?source_url=http%3A%2F%2Fshopsite.com%2Fhelp%2F10.2%2Fen-US%2Fsc%2Fpro%2Fdoba.config.html
If your supplier works with Doba that would also be an option of getting their products in your ShopSite store.
