Changing colors

Postby seblake » Sun Mar 27, 2011 4:02 pm

I am new to all of this - sorry if this is too basic...but...

I am using the colors #093, #333, #3F3, #FF9, and even #000. With the exception of the latter, I cannot seem to figure out how to convert my 3-digit hex colors into the corresponding 6-digit hex colors. The 6-digit hex color value is required by your layout screen (http://shopsite.dot5hosting.com/ss10.0/ss/sbconfig.cgi?screen=1).

Since I cannot seem to master it manually, is there an algorithm that can help me? An interesting side note: All of my pages are verified by W3Schools (CSS v2 and XHTML v1.0)...

Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you very much!

The shorthand hex colors remove doubles. So to convert them you would just add back in the doubles. Your colors would be:
#093 = #009933
#333 = #333333
#3F3 = #33FF33
#FF9 = #FFFF99
#000 = #000000

Thank you, Lauren! I don't think I ever would have figured that out!

Is there a link somewhere that addresses similar anomalies in web page renderings?

Thanks!
